I have a similar bug in Gutsy - Epiphany does not honour the Gconf /system/http_proxy/ settings. I have tried setting them via gnome- network-preferences and also via /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory schema. I managed to resolve this soon after my last comment - it appears that all of the above settings must be created under the /system/proxy/ key. May I suggest that we raise this bug importance to medium? At least if confirmed. I mean that for mobile enterprise users who have to re-configure their proxy in each new places (e.g. the one at work, potentially the one at the customer or hotel, none at home) this is quite nice and an often used feature, and it probably would be frustrating that it does not seem to work. But I would agree that for home desktop user, this is probably never used.
