OK, first, starting off with Quantal and latest updates to recreate: bladernr@GarbageScow:~$ uname -a Linux GarbageScow 3.5.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 13 17:48:01 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux On mains, I did 20 suspend/resumes by closing and opening the lid with no issue. On Battery only, 20 more suspend/resumes with no issue. Finally, I did 20 with AC on suspend, battery on resume, again with no issues. Hi, I'm having the same issue with 12.10 on a Thinkpad x201. In my case it's the same behaviour when on AC or battery or if I suspend or close the lid. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Did you have this issue in Precise, or is it new to Quantal. If this is a regression, we can perform a bisect to identify the commit that introduced the bug. This is new as of Quantal for me. Additionally, after some playing around I am almost certain that this ONLY occurs on lid close/open actions and ONLY when plugged in. When I'm on battery, the machine seems to suspend/resume on lid actions properly. When I'm on mains, I can suspend/resume via pm-suspend (or as I mentioned, the sleep tests in Checkbox, even the multi-cycle tests) but when I do so via lid close/open, the failure rate is 100% or at least close enough to 100%.
