which extensions/plugins do you have enabled? I cannot reproduce it here. The page becomes grey but there is a highlighted
menu where you can select the desired mirror.
~$ dpkg -l | awk '$2 ~ /firefox$/ {print $2 $3}'

Maybe you can provide us a backtrace (follow the hints from [1]).
