[Bug 1076094] Re: Computer turned off without a reason. Power went out.

2013-08-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Koopee, as per
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX32VD/#support_Download_8
an update is available for your BIOS (214). If you update to this, does
it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1076094] Re: Computer turned off without a reason. Power went out.

2012-11-12 Thread Koopee
Happened again. Briefly after resuming from suspend. Wireless network
woke up in nonworking state and I was filing a bug report against
network-manager when the machine powered off.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1078050

Something to do with networking or network hardware drivers?

[Bug 1076094] Re: Computer turned off without a reason. Power went out.

2012-11-08 Thread Koopee
I'll see if the problem reappears. Currently I have no clue how to
reproduce. The computer just came out of the standby, i opened a
terminal, started typing and wham. It was in a middle of a command - I
did not even hit enter.

I have had plenty of kernel freezes with this computer & 12.04 ubuntu,
but not before a complete poweroff.

It would also be helpful if you could attach your syslog file.

Temperature sensor did not kick off since the machine was on just about
5 minutes before shutdown.
