I have the opposite problem, the speed is too slow. I turn off acceleration 
because I want a linear transfer function between mouse move  cursor positon. 
The sensitivity setting does nothing. 
Device Accel Constant Deceleration is already at 1 and can't be set lower.

At the moment it seems I would have to buy a higher DPI mouse, but one
should not have to buy a new mouse to change the speed.

I am able to return the moue to a reasonable speed with xset, but
touching the slider in the control panel changes it back to full speed
no matter where the slider is set.
