Chiron: The logs attached were for the vesa and binary only nvidia driver. Post install, the same problem occurred. I've attached the backup of the original xorg.conf, as well as two Xorg.0 log files. As a follow-up to my bug report, this seems to be a regression from edgy, which (IIRC) used the vesa driver by default. I suspect that Feisty used the 'nv' driver instead.
