Just tested 3.2.0-35. Wild load spikes still exist. Upon further investigation, this seems to affect every Ubuntu 3.2 kernel. We've tested -24, -31, -33, and the upcoming -34. All exhibit impossible load swings. Unfortunately DRBD 8.4.2 will not compile against the 3.7rc7 kernel, nor will iomemory-vsl, two vendor source-based modules that seem to rely on deprecated kernel API calls. However, 3.4.20 from Quantal does not exhibit this behavior. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages.
