We have noted that there is a newer version of the kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest kernel for this release by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install linux If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1087935 Title: Empty IPI mask - Nautilus crash or kernel panic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1087935/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1087935] Re: Empty IPI mask - Nautilus crash or kernel panic
** Description changed: Hi, I just bought a brand new motherboard/CPU/RAM/VideoCard/SSD. Added to the hardware above, I've got a 2*500GB RAID0 disks and a 2TB disk through my NAS (mounted via NFS) - As I was retrieving my save from my NAS, everytime I tried to copy (either a file or the whole directory), nautilus crashes and sometimes got a kernel panic (a reboot was needed). + As I was retrieving my save from my NAS, everytime I tried to cut/paste either a file or the whole directory, nautilus crashes and sometimes got a kernel panic (a reboot was needed). - This bug only happens when I tried to copy from the NAS, not when it's a local copy (from RAID HDDs to SSD for example) - The crash or kernel panic only happens at the beginning or the end of the copy (progress bar appears and it crashes or the progress bar starts, stops after the first file copied and it crashes) + This bug only happens when I tried to cut/paste from the NAS, not when it's a local copy (from RAID HDDs to SSD for example). As I noticed above, it seems to happen only when I cut/paste, not when I copy/paste (for the moment, I didn't happen when I copy/paste) + The crash or kernel panic only happens at the beginning or the end of the paste (progress bar appears and it crashes or the progress bar starts, stops after the first file copied and it crashes) Attached is the kern.log where you can see error happening since the beginning of the file (I tried different scenario of copy every evening).
