Public bug reported: Character map only shows alpha-numeric characters (incl accents) but no symbols, even if a font such as OpenSymbol is selected. Indeed, if I select the OpenSymbol font, the display doesn't change at all from the previous font. The symbol fonts are installed - I can see what I want in LibreOffice or GIMP for example. The KCharSelect program also doesn't show the symbols. What's wrong? Using Ubuntu 12.04.
