This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any recent acitivity. If this is still an issue with the most recent Hardy Heron 8.04 release please open a new bug report. Against 2.6.20 this will be closed. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Won't Fix -- unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109030 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 109030] Re: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address
I'm sorry, obviously my oops has nothing to do with the original bug report. I've never seen this oops again, but it looks similar to http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8473. I've run the test program in an up-to-date gutsy, and it looks like the bug is not present here. [Bug 109030] Re: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet have enough information. Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team: 1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command 'dmesg dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file 'dmesg.log' to this bug report. 3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report. For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies .
