*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1161985 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1161985 Have this problem on Ubuntu 16.04/xenial with discs on an eSATA-PCIe Card. It uses an ASMediaChip ASM1062. BIOS Version is 0.95-something iirc. All discs that are connected to this controller have this problem, checked it with this little programm above and it generates the error. For a workaround I connect the discs to usb2 no errors here. I was observing this problem. On Saucy an rsync backup would lead my system to lock up. Something that did not happen on Quantal or Raring. The right thing to do here is to stop using read_threshold and find a suitable replacement.
