I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released. If after upgrading you continue to have problems with this issue then feel free to reopen this bug. The same bug. Ubuntu 7.04 (Fiesty Fawn), OOO 2.2. Using Impress, when trying to modify text fields, CPU goes up to 100%, system hangs for a while, then CPU goes back to normal. With one file only. Reproducible. Additional info: I started the file under XP (SP2, OOO2.2), then reopened in Ubuntu (layout was broken - not an issue here thogh). I used fonts that are available only in XP I guess (SILDoulosIPA) - freezes really for a while when trying to open text with many alien fonts. I hope this helps. Hello Habeeb! I opened bug 112998 for the last crash; actually it did not crashed but hangs with 100% CPU, sorry for the confusion. How long does it take, usually, for the hang to happen? Sometimes several hours but sometimes a few minutes. In the moment it happens rarely. Maybe you could try with another document and see if it still hangs? Because it happens so rarely I could not reproduce it with another file than that working on it. How many times has it happened? I was able to reproduce the bug - nearly. In fact OOo did not hang but became very nonrespondent so that I need to restart OOo. Hope it helps anyway. Sorry for missing the required information: I am using Ubuntu Feisty with OOo 2.2.0-1ubuntu3. Until now I was not able to reproduce the bug but I expect to get it in the next few days. So please be patient. In the meanwhile I experienced a total crash of OOo but different than the bug I reported above. For me it happens from one second to another and I can not tell you what caused it. OOo just crashed and was restarted afterwards automatically. First of all, by the nature of your problem, I guess that your crash is reproducible. Could you, next time you run OO, also use a tool which will greatly help the developers understand your problem?
