Yes, after using the woraround to xorg.conf started evince work like it should. Attached please find xorg.conf and xdpyinfo before and after modification. This bug occurs when the X server gets confused about display dimensions. Some video drivers, like fglrx, will mess up. xdpyinfo gives the following output on my system. screen #0: dimensions:1400x1050 pixels (0x0 millimeters) resolution:-2147483648x-2147483648 dots per inch Evince asks GdkPixBuf to create a negative sized pixbuf, which is impossible. Well problem is that the program does not crash, it just gets stuck and does nothing (actually in some kind of loop, 100% CPU load). Program closes if I press x on right top corner two times and choose close by force (or something, I'm using Finnish localization). I attached the gdb dump anyway but it has just that stuff that I can see in terminal anyway (about gdkpixbuf). Yes, I cannot open any PDF with Evince currently, everytime it gets stuck. Here is one PDF example.
