Both of these work here, in the upstream mozilla.org binaries (2.0.0.4). this is a usability issue which is probably a gtk filepicker issue and not a thunderbird one. Triagers: please verify if the filepicker in tbird 1.5 is gtk filepicker and if so test if other gtk applications are affected as well.
