Public bug reported: I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 x64 on my desktop with GeForce 8500GT. I have some lags using nouveau, so i have decided to install the package using the tool 'software sources' (but is the same with apt-get command). After the reboot, the video server does not work anymore, fortunately removing the package from the console restore the situation. Installing the package 'linux-headers-generic' and then the driver package again, all works fine. I suggest to add the package 'linux-headers-generic' as dependence to solve the problem.
If it help I will send the xsession-errors file. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "xsession-errors" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1141853/+attachment/3554862/+files/xsession-errors -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1141853 Title: Need a dipendence to work properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates/+bug/1141853/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
