mohnkern, I believe that's an entirely separate issue. I think you'll want to file a bug for that specific problem (if you can't find one that's been filed already). I've upgraded from 7.04 to 7.10. Now, in Gutsy, I no longer have the issue. If I click Format -> Slide, then select a different theme, the program no longer crashes. openoffice.org 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5 2.6.22-14-generic kernel It appears to be resolved! Even if I try to open it by ooffice i console then by chosing presentation from menu Oo hangs. I have a clean install of 7.10 now (I've cleaned disk and installed 7.10 final release). I believe that this problem has been corrected in Ubuntu 7.10 OpenOffice 2.3.0. Can you please try with the new version and see if this resolves your problem? Confirmed using openoffice.org version 2.2.0-1ubuntu3 on amd64 by going to the Format -> Slide Design menu and choosing something different. Do you use an amd64 or i386 kernel?
