[Bug 114965] Re: Logoff the first logged user causes Authentication failed on second logged user

It looks like this has been reported again, here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/208111 . One of them
should be marked as duplicate. As the description there is clearer than
it is here i will mark this as a duplicate of the other one.

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 208111
When two users are logged in at the same time and one logs out, gdm drops
back to the locked-screen dialog of the other user, which works only to unlock
the session.

I think they aren't the same bug, the steps to reproduce them are close,
but the issue is way different. I never got stucked in a locked session,
just the annoying loop sound and the logoff fail with the second user,
if the first user is also the first to leave the system.

[Bug 114965] Re: Logoff the first logged user causes Authentication failed on second logged user

2009-11-02 Thread brandonedmunds
an we reopen this?

I've installed karmic 9.10 and am seeing the same thing.

Two logon sessions running at the same time, user1 and user2. User2 logs
off and gdm goes back to the lockout dialog window for user1, however my
password never works here. I can do a workaround, by clicking switch
user and going back to the main gdm screen and logging in just fine.
This also happens in reverse (i.e. user1 logs out, user2's password will
not work at the lockout screen).

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with
the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?

Thanks in advance.

I'm having still same problem. When I logon, the initial sound of Ubuntu 7.04
keeps in loop.
I hope this problem could be fix as soon as possible.

Nobody? Don't you need a log or something? I've crossed many updates,
but the bug still here, reproduced every time I try.
