[Bug 1162637] Re: command completion
not clear to me this should be closed as Invalid... Today I had a rather strange experience, have been developing with 14.04 on arm for a couple of weeks. maybe 18 years linux experience, but hey amateur. autocomplete in bash for commands as per ./dosomething has worked fine eg ./do + Tab and Enter. however after some small changes and rebuilding with cmake, autocomplete fails consistently. the cmake build is one or two files, max 50 lines total. just to confirm I had not updated, rebooted, changed any system files etc. fully up to date 14.04.1 LTS 3.13.0-40-generic it would help me if I could believe this bug was valid... else cmake and that seems unlikely, but maybe possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162637 Title: command completion To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bash-completion/+bug/1162637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1162637] Re: command completion
I'm sorry, I have removed ~/.bashrc. After restoring it with 'cp /etc/skel/.bashrc ~/.bashrc' all bash-completion options work normally. ** Tags removed: saucy trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162637 Title: command completion To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bash-completion/+bug/1162637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1162637] Re: command completion
I tested it more accurate on Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04. 1. If I'm on VT1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1) bash-completion works as expected - it normally complete (with and without sudo): * apt-get , with autoclean' check ... (and all other variants) * apt-cache , with add dump ... (and all other variants) * aptitude , with add-user-tag forbid-version ... (and all other variants) * dpkg , with --abort-after --no-debsig ... (and all other variants) * dpkg-reconfigure xorg , with xorg xorg-docs-core 2. If I'm on gnome-terminal or xterm in graphic session (for example, Unity1) all these options do not work. Bash-completion functionality is a very often used functionality, so please fix this bug. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1181495 Strange bug in Ubuntu 13.04 (apt and more) [bash-completion] ** Tags added: saucy trusty ** Tags added: raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1162637 Title: command completion To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bash-completion/+bug/1162637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
