Yo he resuelto mi problema dentro de la console poniendo "sudo" ante el
mensaje.

A minha atitude foi radical; desinstalei o programa e comecei do zero. Aliás
estou recomeçando. Estou aprendendo muito com esse programa. Bom, não sei te

Lynna, I have the same problem and done this ("sudo dpkg --configure -a"), next 
thing I see on my screen is ->?? how to proceed after this command??
(need some guidance here)

you need to preface "dpkg --configure -a" with sudo.

ie, run "sudo dpkg --configure -a"

Am having same exact problem. Appears to be related to installing the
Gnome Package Manager / terminal and am unable to uninstall by any means
that I have tried either terminal or synaptic package manager or the
default add / remove software.
