The Unity dash is exceptionally slow to load on Raring with latest
updates (as of writing). On Ubuntu 12.10 it was much better, so this is
a regression. It seems to be the animation which is slow, the fade it
only shows around two frames. But total load time is also longer.

+ Total load time from pressing super key to animation is done is around
+ 2.5 to 3 seconds, which is too long. It seems to be graphics related
+ (blurring maybe?), as everything in the dash is loaded from before.
