Re: [Bug 1168404] Re: during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore"
nope: I use the "sudo update-manager -d &" command option to upgrade the ubuntu dist from 12.10 to 13.04. I solved the issue right now woth cleaning the cache by apt-get options 2013/4/12 melchiaros > Have you used a cd to do the distribuntion upgrade? > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168404 > > Title: > during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge > "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore" > > Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu: > New > > Bug description: > i got this error message durine the pre-installation tasks to migrate > ubuntu from 12.10 to 13.04: > > "After your package information was updated the essential package > 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore. > This indicates a serious error, please report this bug against the > 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in > the bug report." > > ProblemType: Bug > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 > Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:0.190.6 > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-28.47-generic 3.5.7.9 > Uname: Linux 3.5.0-28-generic i686 > ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu10 > Architecture: i386 > Date: Fri Apr 12 15:35:43 2013 > InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-02-13 (58 days ago) > InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 > (20120817.3) > MarkForUpload: True > PackageArchitecture: all > ProcEnviron: >TERM=xterm >PATH=(custom, no user) >XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= >LANG=en_US.UTF-8 >SHELL=/bin/bash > SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader > UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2013-04-12 (0 days ago) > VarLogDistupgradeTermlog: > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1168404/+subscriptions > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168404 Title: during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore" - affects kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1168404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I do not know the content of the package ubuntu-minimal, but the logs show that the generic kernel is affected, which makes this here a serious thing. A adapt the summary to this. ** Summary changed: - during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore" + during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore" - affects kernel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168404 Title: during dist upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 b2... got the errore messagge "essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore" - affects kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1168404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
