The BCM4312 wireless problems seems to be introduced with the switch of the bcmwl-kernel-source package from 5.100... to 6.20 The 6.20 version of the bcmwl drivers seems to drop some older drivers. See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/923809/comments/31 A possible workaround could be a re-release of the 5.100 version as bcmwl-5-kernel-source. If this is done, the adjustment of dependencies (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1085482) should be also applied to the 5.100 branch. -- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169653 Title: Ubuntu 13.04 / 12.04 // Lenovo B590 MBX29GE/627429G // WLAN Broadcom BMC 43142 and ACPI Issues/Bugs // kernel-bug-exists-upstream To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1169653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

When filing an ACPI related bug, please attach the following information to the bug report as _separate_ attachments: Output of uname -a Linux 3.8.0-18-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 11 19:38:55 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Output of sudo lspci -vvnn lspci.txt ... done Output of sudo dmidecode dmidecode.txt ... done Try to hibernate/suspend and then restart the system and attach /var/log/kern.log.0 ... done Tarball of /proc/acpi directory ... done What I can say and found out: - Brightness adjustment is very weak. On console only 2 levels of brightness available. Under KDE and Unity the behavior is very strange: If the powermanagement is going to work the brightness is increasing instead of decreasing (as aspected). Adjusting manually works. But as soon as the powermanagement is going to work the adjustment is lost. - Battery drains faster than under Windows 8 (Linux ~ 4h, Windows ~ 5,5h).
