[Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new issue? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.16 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
Still getting this. Unfortunately I can't switch to Debian as this is my desktop. I looked for a PPA with an updated cifs-utils but the only one I could find has lots of gnome stuff which I don't want to upgrade. I may try pining cifs-utils out of that one and see what that does when I get a chance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174328 Title: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cifs-utils/+bug/1174328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
Hi Kevin, Do you not think it could be winbind as per comment #6, rather than cifs-utils? Same problem I guess. [Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
After some further reflection I wondered about the version of winbind in each case, this is the result: Ubuntu 13.04 (not working): winbind/raring uptodate 2:3.6.9-1ubuntu1 Debian Wheezy 7.1 (working): winbind/wheezy uptodate 2:3.6.6-6 So maybe the Ubuntu version has been (in this respect at least) negatively enhanced. I have reinstalled my new server with Debian Wheezy. [Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
After a bit more investigation (whilst setting up a new server) with Lubuntu 13.04 and later with Debian Wheezy 7.1 I have found that Debian Wheezy works okay: Ubuntu 12.04: cifs-utils/precise-updates uptodate 2:5.1-1ubuntu2 - this version seems to work. Lubuntu 13.04: cifs-utils/raring uptodate 2:5.5-1ubuntu2 - alas this does not appear to work! Debian Wheezy 7.1: cifs-utils/wheezy uptodate 2:5.5-1 - this version seems to work. So Wheezy seems to have the same version of cifs-utils that L/Ubuntu 13.04 has, but only the former works. does anyone have any idea what may be going on, or how we may find out? In addition, I also tried to connect Lubuntu 13.04 to a Synology DS411J NAS box. I was unable to and kept getting a Permission Denied (13) error. It works fine with Ubuntu 12.04. I'm pretty certain my credentials were correct and I tried very many times. [Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
Hi Yohann, Thanks for the support - nice to know I am not alone! You didn't say which version of OS/400 you were using. It might help to know that as things might be better on V610 or V710, or then again, maybe not. It would be nice if perhaps the IBM i team could allocate some resource, even a little, for testing OS/400 with Ubuntu. You can only ask ... On a different point, which might help someone somewhere, I commented at the end of my initial post about having problems with the new gvfs path name and Java programs. I have now investigated fully and solved the problem, which turned out to be my fault - kind of. What I do is to put my jar files in one directory and other files (settings, logs etc.) in other directories at the same level. So I get the resource name of a class I know, and that give me the path to it, which in turn helps me find the other directories. The problem comes in that the getResource(class_name) API returns a URL escaped string, so the equals signs (=) in the gvfs path become %3d, which in turn means that when I try to subsequently use the path, directories and files are not found. The solution was simple, I just added a URLDecoder.decode(class_file,UTF-8) after it to get back the original path name. My grumble of course is that it really is best to keep things simple, and not put 'unpleasent' characters in path names! [Bug 1174328] Re: mount error(28): No space left on device - not true
I have exactly the same problem since I have updated Ubuntu to the 13.04. I have the same version of cifs-utils than Mark Andrew Wheadon. One precision, in my case I don't have the problem with Windows partitions, but only with AS400 IFS partitions. Is there a workaround ?
