@Thomas: It's in 13.04, and I'm running Ubuntu Server. Not sure if
there's a way to add that to the issue proper; I checked and couldn't
see anything obvious. Please let me know if I should do something else.

@Dmitry: I can't test it myself, as I don't want to mess with my server too 
much, but the upstream changelist for 1.4.x does list it as a fixed bug (search 
for crypt_r):
