[Bug 1176370] Re: Ethernet connection not stable
Mark Lok, could you please test the latest mainline kernel http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.11-rc1-saucy/ and report the results? ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing ** Summary changed: - Ethernet connection not stable + 1969:1083 Ethernet connection not stable ** Description changed: I have upgraded Ubuntu 13.04 from 12.10 and after installing it the wired network got unstable. - On Ubuntu 13.04 the wired connection always lost in a few minutes after connection established. Just wondering about dual boot...how many of the "affected" are running in dual boot set-ups? I tested the alx driver solution from Tomasz's reply in http://askubuntu.com/questions/287779/wired-network-is-not-stable-in- ubuntu-13-04-64-bit and found out that is the 802.11 wireless driver "ath9k" caused this problem. >From the related post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2139977 some >said installing ald modules can slove the problems, sadly it not works for my >laptop. But i found out something while trying to install alx driver: After I unloaded all network-related dirvers in the installation and loaded ethernet driver atl1c again, my wired connection works great!
