Kernel 3.8.0-22.33~lp1183912+03 seems to work.

For interest, I decided to do apt-get update  apt-get dist-upgrade (it
reinstalled 3.8.0-22.33 from the repositories).

This kernel seems to now work, I'm not sure what went wrong.

David,

I was coming to that conclusion myself. There really is nothing
different between the -20 kernel and the -22 kernel. The -21 was an odd
one because of an emergency CVE update that we had to do.

Yes that kernel works fine as does 3.8.0-21.

It only seems to be 3.8.0-22 that does not.
