Public bug reported: I installed the acroread package and although I can start the application itself, I can not rightclick on a file and select "Open with Acrobat Reader"; the option doesn't show up.
But if I fix /usr/share/applications/acroread.desktop accorting to http://ubuntugenius.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/ubuntu-fix-add-program-to- list-of-applications-in-open-with-when-right-clicking-files-in-nautilus/ so that it contains the line "Exec=acroread %f" (note the %f), then Acrobat Reader shows up. I expect not to be forced to manually change a .desktop file to be able to open files with Acrobat Reader.
