Works perfectly without crashes now. Thank you. Only thing which does not work is that onboard does not take the desktop theme. I haven't been able to reproduce this bug myself, but trunk rev. 1526 probably fixes it anyway. Similar to bug #189946, the python thread state wasn't set up properly.
