Since this bug seems to be fixed in the latest 2.2.1 gnucash version that can be found in Gutsy or Feisty backports, I set the status to fix released. I doubt that this is necessary. I rather think this bug has been fixed in GnuCash's developer tree (trunk), leading to 2.2.0. I am getting the very same segfault and was just about to report this bug, as well. In my case, I was creating a new expense account. I cannot provide a very helpful backgrace because there do not appear to be any debugging symbols in the repository. If someone can point me to those, I can generate a backtrace.
