[Bug 1196816] Re: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device
Thanks Po-Hsu for confirming, I will set the linux task as Invalid as this is not a kernel issue. For the problem that USB drive icon is shown instead of media card, it is probably gvfs that controls it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Low = Undecided ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: Anthony Wong (anthonywong) = (unassigned) ** Also affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196816 Title: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1196816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1196816] Re: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device
Searched launchpad and found bug 504440 should be the same issue, comment #28 stated that this bug has been fixed in 13.04. Would you mind give it a try? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196816 Title: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1196816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1196816] Re: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device
Verified with 12.10 and 13.04 The safely remove option was gone, thus the card reader itself won't be removed. But the icon of the inserted media card still using the icon of USB drive, instead of media cards. BTW, these two card reader, Realtek [0bda:0129] and Alcor [058f:6362], do have similar issues. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196816 Title: Card Reader - Realtek [0bda:0129] was detected as an removable USB device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1196816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
