Thanks for the advice, I installed the following kernel: linux-image-3.2.0-50-generic_3.2.0-50.76pre201307100400_amd64.deb from here: http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernel-ppa/pre-proposed/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/ and the server is working properly. The 3.2.0-50 kernel received the upstream 3.2.48 updates. Can you test this kernel and see if it still exhibits this bug? It will tell us if the bug was fixed by 3.2.48, since you confirm it does not have this bug.
