[Bug 1202905] Re: Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux
VinsS, as per http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page? an update is available for your BIOS (2AKT51A). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream-v3.11-rc1 needs-full-computer- model ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing ** Summary changed: - Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux + [Lenovo ThinkCentre A50p] Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux ** Tags removed: needs-full-computer-model ** Tags added: bios-outdated-2akt51a ** Summary changed: - [Lenovo ThinkCentre A50p] Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux + 8086:2572 [Lenovo ThinkCentre A50p] Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202905 Title: 8086:2572 [Lenovo ThinkCentre A50p] Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1202905/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1202905] Re: Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux
Fixed, I've changed lightdm to gdm. $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm Choose gdm in the dialog and reboot, that's all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202905 Title: Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1202905/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1202905] Re: Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.11 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance.
