[Bug 121362] Re: nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network
This bug (or a similar one) surfaced in version 1.1.93-1ubuntu1 once again. Work-around: restart nm-applet after resume as within user desktop session. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121362 Title: nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/121362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 121362] Re: nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network
I am running Ubuntu 8.04 on a Dell XPS M1330. After suspend I have restart all the networking stuff (rmmod iwl3945, modprobe, and do a networking restart via a dbus/resume.d/ script. In any case, it re- establishes the wireless connection just fine but the nm-applet does not show that it is connected because it switches from looking at wlan0 to eth0. If I kill the nm-applet and restart it then it finds wlan0 just fine. Any suggestions as to the root cause or what I can do to not have to kill the nm-applet? [Bug 121362] Re: nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network
I can confirm this as well. I experienced it several times in Gutsy. The work around for me was to disable roaming for my wired network. That was an okay solution for me because I use wireless almost exclusively for connecting to the Internet. ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121362 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 121362] Re: nm-applet thinks it's connected to the wired network, when it's connected to the wireless network
I had the same thing happen to me on my feisty box a couple of times.
