when i boot the computer it always say failed to unlock and i have to enter
my password in the top left corner and it accepts my password there but
then if i need to send a bug report, use sudo in terminal, or login to
whatever it is when you press ctrl+Alt+F1 it will not accept the "root"
password which is the same as my login password, there is only one os on
this box and also anytime i try to use sudo in the terminal it ask for the
password and doesnt say the password is incorrect just goes to the next
line waiting for another code. If i need to enter in in the gui interface
(?unity?) it tells me i entered the incorrect password even though i know
it is the correct password. IN the ctrl alt f1 thing it will not let me
login to unix because says i have entered and incorrect login. And when i
run passwd in terminal it just acts like its ready for next prompt unless i
enter wrong password then it lets me know.i honestly think the problem
is that the "root" partition or filesystem is in read only mode and i
cannot get it to change to read write says i don't have permissions. sorry
i am not that good with the terminology of this linux/unix/ubuntu game but
am working on it also i will need baby steps to work this out so please be
patient with me. thanks Codey
