Caleb, also, this is not an issue in Kubuntu as they do not use any of the indicator-* stuff that I am aware of. ** Description changed: in 13.04 (Raring), Quassel doesn't have an entry in the messaging applet anymore (The Envelope), and the tray icon does not work. To duplicate, install either of the quassel, quassel-client applications, and launch. In 12.04 there is an entry in the messaging menu, but in 13.04 there is not. Also enabling the tray icon in quassel has no effect. If I correctly recall, this particularly affects GTK+-based desktops. metRo_, not in Ubuntu/Unity. A nasty workaround for Xubuntu is to remove the indicator-application package. That will at least allow the tray icon to appear, but if anything else uses that package, you will lose that as well. For example, the volume indicator. The Quassel team states that this is a won't-fix because Canonical changed the way this works in incompatible ways. I don't agree with this, but it is what it is. If anyone wants to step up and write a patch, that would be awesome.
