[Bug 1239572] Re: TCP Tail Loss Probe problem in Ubuntu 13.10 kernel

2013-11-05 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I can see this made it into the 3.12 tree as the following commit:

031afe4990a7c9dbff41a3a742c44d3e740ea0a1 tcp: fix incorrect ca_state in
tail loss probe

I'll build a saucy test kernel with a cherry-pick of this commit and
post a link to it shortly.

2013-11-05 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I created a Saucy test kernel with a cherry pick of 031afe4. The test kernel
can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1239572/

Can you test this kernel and post back if it resolves this bug or not?

The patch: tcp: fix incorrect ca_state in tail loss probe has not made
it into Linus's tree as of yet.  When it does, we can perform a cherry-
pick into Saucy.  If it is cc'd to stable, it will automatically be
included in Saucy through the normal stable release update process.

Are you able to reproduce this bug easily?  If so, was it introduced in
the v3.10 kernel and not exist in earlier kernels?  If that is the case,
we might be able to revert the commit that introduced this, until the
fix lands upstream.
