Problem is back in the official (non-PPA) packages of Ubuntu 14.04, re- opening. @ronj your gnome-settings-daemon was updated (3.8.5 - 3.8.6.1) I just updated mine and restarted gnome-shell but my keyboard shortcuts are not working. Confirm this, after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 and Gnome Shell 3.10 via gnome3-next do not work: terminal, screen locking, media buttons (volume), sleep button, touchpad enable/disable (via Fn keys). I am now running gnome-shell 3.8.4-0ubuntu5 + gnome-settings-daemon 3.8.5-0ubuntu9, and all keyboard shortcuts work as expected. Reproducibility / Version information: - Always, for me and for a friend. I can confirm that most of the keyboard shortcuts in Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 with Gnome Next PPA install and upgraded to Gnome 3.10 do not work.
