** Description changed:
In Kubuntu 13.10, using a mobile broadband connection, connected using
- Network Manager as normal, in the system tray I get a small icon of a
- mobile phone, as expected. Then after using Network Manager to connect
- to a VPN using OpenVPN, instead of getting the mobile phone icon with a
- padlock in the system tray, as in previous versions of Kubuntu, I
- instead get a mobile phone icon with a stop symbol on it (red circle
- with diagonal line across it).
+ Network Manager as normal, in the system tray I get a small icon saying
+ HSDPA or UMTS with a signal strength graph. Then after using Network
+ Manager to connect to a VPN using OpenVPN, instead of getting the mobile
+ phone icon with a padlock in the system tray, as in previous versions of
+ Kubuntu, I instead get a mobile phone icon with a stop symbol on it
+ (red circle with diagonal line across it).
The icon in use here suggests that there is a problem with the network
connection, not that it is working with a VPN.
