   can't install ubuntu 13.10. Can't use computer anymore

 Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
   Invalid

 Bug description:
   Upgrading from ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10. installation crashed.  Installed
 12.04 from a flash disk. Computer keeps trying to start 13.10.  Downloaded
 a 13.10CD.  instead of repairing the failed install, it installed in
 another partition.  and again failed.
   I don't want to format my HD.

On the partitioning screen, create a partition, set the size to 1 MB,
and the type to bios_grub.
