I tried to just remove the line, but the size-change still happens. It might just be a bug in gtk3... Thanks for the reminder :) There is indeed something like firebug for Gtk+, it's called gtkparasite, you can find it on github. I'm currently busy with a lot of other projects that need fixes/releases before the freezes come, so if you can come up with a patch, that'd be great.
