The bug is a result from not using the original cdrtools software. The original software supports to write all media types but in the fork distributed on Ubuntu, the DVD support code was ripped off. Confirmed to still be present in Jaunty (wodim 9:1.1.9-1ubuntu1). $ wodim driver=mmc_dvdplus Illegal driver type 'mmc_dvdplus'. The man page is from cdrecord - the original program. The people who did create the fork "wodim" did rip off the DVD support code for unknown reasons.
