Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org2

When I click on File, the entire system just locks up. The mouse won't
move, the keyboard is unresponsive, and the only way to do anything is
to kill X.org by shelling in from another computer. It appears as though
X grabs the mouse and never lets go. I have seen other people report
this issue on the debian mailinglist, but it is just too critical not to
report in launchpad as well.

I can reproduce the bug pretty consistently. Open up a bunch of
documents in openoffice and leave it running for a while (maybe
overnight). Openoffice gets really slow. Close openoffice. Next, open a
document by clicking on it in the file browser (not necessary, but that
is just how I do it). The next time you touch the File menu, it just
ices X. Goodnight, say goodbye to whatever you didn't have saved
because it is gone forever.

This bug is catastrophic. I don't know how else to put it. For a system
to flat out freeze is just the worst possible bug.
