[Bug 1277959] Re: Fn+F2 is not working for activating/deactivating wifi

2014-06-04 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Christian Mayle, as per
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=enp=3s=533m=1015Eos=8hashedid=n/a
an update to your BIOS is available (304). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it
doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

2014-02-18 Thread Christian Mayle
Many Thanks!
Why before next LTS 14.04? There is no chance that this bug is fixed in a
12.04 LTS update?
I am also having problems with Fn+F8 to switch screens. I am a university
teacher so imagine that switching my laptop screen and a projector is a
thing I do lots of times in a two hours class.
I really do not want to use windows 7, I like unity very much, but I guess
I have no more options.

Hope it gets permanently fixed before next LTS (14.04) is out. It has
already been embarrassingly long since this problem has been reported
