Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04.4 Adding a Twitter account from gwibber does not open the twitter authorization page.
Twitter now only accepts SSL connections. After inspecting the code on gwibber-service-twitter files i found the problem. File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/gtk/twitter/__init__.py Line 78 and 144 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http" File /usr/share/gwibber/plugins/twitter/__init__.py Line 401 - Needs to be "https" where it states "http" Editing these files with the previous fix makes adding a twitter account working again. ** Affects: gwibber (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise ** Description changed: Ubuntu 12.04.4 Adding a Twitter account from gwibber does not open the twitter authorization page.
