2009-01-31 Thread Martin Mai
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I confirm and agree that for the Alternative CD, quiet should not be.

[Bug 129010] Re: alternate install CD should probably not be quiet by default

2008-03-12 Thread RichardNeill
In hardy alpha 5, the quiet seems to be somehow implicit - at any rate,
there is no way to remove it from the command-line as one could previously. It
seems that
 quiet, splash=silent
have been forcibly hardcoded in, and the result is that there is no way to get
the status messages, no matter what boot parameter I try! So this doesn't
only apply to the alternative install disc.

(Also, most distros let you press Esc (when bootsplash is being shown)
to see the full boot messages; Ubuntu doesn't.)
