Binary package hint: xchat
Latest XChat (version 2.8.4) has a nice feature: after joining a
channel, you can see the previous logged messages. However, the red line
that marks the last read line is at the very top of the chat window, not
at the channel join message, which makes tracking backlogs pretty
difficult.
