[Bug 1308338] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS upgrade fails if Flight Gear installed
Just for info: as my dist upgrade from 14.04.05 to 16.04.01 didn't work ("2016-08-28 03:49:44,202 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Fehler: Unterbrechungen durch pkgProblemResolver::Resolve hervorgerufen; dies könnte durch zurückgehaltene Pakete verursacht worden sein.'") i tried lots of things without success. Then I found this bug thread but it didn't help me either. But it inspired me to check "installed (upgradable)" packages with synaptic which showed one package that was not in "main": minetest! After I deinstalled minetest, finally do- release-upgrade continued without the pkgProblemResolver::Resolve error! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308338 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS upgrade fails if Flight Gear installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1308338/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1308338] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS upgrade fails if Flight Gear installed
For flightgear, the problematic package is libnetcdf6, which was replaced by libnetcdfc7. Broken libnetcdfc7:amd64 Breaks on libnetcdf6 [ amd64 ] < 1:4.1.1-6 > ( libs ) (< 1:4.1.1-7~) Considering libnetcdf6:amd64 1 as a solution to libnetcdfc7:amd64 0 MarkKeep libnetcdfc7 [ amd64 ] < none -> 1:4.1.3-7ubuntu2 > ( universe/libs ) FU=0 Holding Back libnetcdfc7:amd64 rather than change libnetcdf6:amd64 Because of this, there is a domino effect that causes libgdal1h to not be installed, which then causes libopenscenegraph99 to not be installed, which then causes flightgear and simgear to not be installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308338 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -> 14.04 LTS upgrade fails if Flight Gear installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flightgear/+bug/1308338/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Looks like libhdf5-serial-1.8.4 is the offender.
