[Bug 130871] Re: [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed
Oh i did find a fix for a lot for some of this, you need to make sure the correct permissions on the rasters are usable. i.e. under /usr/lib/cups/filter the appropriate user has the permissions to use it (for example lp has access to it). In general the raster that is failing has different or weird permission settings to the others (please consider security when you change these things). -- [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130871 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 130871] Re: [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed
Similar problem in Gutsy, although it's using Ghostscript: some pages fail to print on my Epson Stylus C60 under CUPS, with error message: "/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed". Most importantly, some CUPS printer maintenance pages fail: I got that error with the "Clean print heads" page... So, I guess "problem confirmed in Gutsy", notwithstanding Till Kamppeter hopeful message. :( -- [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130871 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 130871] Re: [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed
In Gutsy the problem will disappear as gs-esp is replace by ghostscript, which is the latest GPL Ghostscript with the functionality of ESP Ghostscript merged in. This fixes a lot of problems, especially PDF handling. Fix for this bug in Feisty and older would be offering a backport of the ghostscript package. ** Changed in: ghostscript (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gs-esp => ghostscript -- [GPL GS WORKS] Can't print, because cups-pstoraster failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130871 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
