Public bug reported: Hi
I'm uncertain if this is the correct package, please move if you think it should! The story: I just updated to Ubuntu 14.04 and soon noticed that it can't connect to my office wifi. This worked fine with 13.10. After some testing I noticed that I could connect to my home wifi and to my mobile hotspot. All three using WPA2 security. The only difference is that my office have several AP:s for the same SSID (To cover the whole office space) and my mobile hotspot and home wifi have only one AP. I have generated wireless_info.txt from wireless_script to gather as much information as possible. They will be included in this ticket. The test is done at extract the same spot, just after each other. wireless-info-single-AP.txt - Connected via my mobile hostpot (EgUSpot) currently in use for writing this ticket. wireless-info-multi-AP.txt - While trying to connect to office wifi (Aurora, I think) All passwords and so on is triple checked and they all worked before updating to 14.04 from 13.10 The laptop I test with is a Lenovo T440p with Intel Wireless 7260 chip. I hope I got all the information you need to solve this, if not please ask and I will try to add the requested information. /BR ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: network-manager 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.46-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Apr 23 11:34:56 2014 IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-12-20 (123 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Release amd64 (20131016.1) IpRoute: default via 192.168.43.1 dev wlan1 proto static 172.17.0.0/16 dev docker0 proto kernel scope link src 172.17.42.1 192.168.43.0/24 dev wlan1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.43.189 metric 9 NetworkManager.state: [main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=true WWANEnabled=true WimaxEnabled=true SourcePackage: network-manager UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-04-22 (0 days ago) mtime.conffile..etc.NetworkManager.NetworkManager.conf: 2014-03-26T15:36:47.007617 nmcli-dev: DEVICE TYPE STATE DBUS-PATH cdc-wdm2 gsm disconnected /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/6 wlan1 802-11-wireless connected /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/1 eth1 802-3-ethernet unavailable /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/Devices/0 nmcli-nm: RUNNING VERSION STATE NET-ENABLED WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN running 0.9.8.8 connected enabled enabled enabled enabled disabled ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty wifi ** Attachment added: "Wireless info multi AP" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311576/+attachment/4093932/+files/wireless-info-multi-AP.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311576 Title: Wifi can't connect when there are many AP for the same SSID To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1311576/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
