[Bug 1312358] Re: wifi intermittent on Macbook Pro Retina 10, 2 Ubuntu 14.04

2014-04-25 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

Re: [Bug 1312358] Re: wifi intermittent on Macbook Pro Retina 10, 2 Ubuntu 14.04

2014-04-25 Thread Phil Marsh
Hi Joe,
Thanks so much for getting back to me. Testing a new kernel might be a
little problematic since this is sort of a production machine. However, I
had already installed the OS numerous times this past week anyway and it
wouldn't be a disaster if I had to do so again.
I will try to see if there's a way I can back up the OS to an image so I
can re-install it if things blow up. Maybe you have another suggestion? As
another approach, is there a way to go back to the old i.e. production
kernel if the new one merely suffers from non-killer but significant
defects?
Thanks again,
Phil
